SoftSpot // “Holy Father” (Live)

As if this band, and more specifically this track, needed any other reason to occupy my brain more than they already do; here’s a new video of SoftSpot playing the haunting “Holy Father.” I haven’t made a habit of posting live material but this is so beyond anything captured on an iPhone in a smokey club and uploaded to YouTube. It’s a masterfully shot live performance that is being used as the track’s official video.

There is such a dark, alluring quality to this track and the band perfectly catches that feeling with their live set. Amidst a sea of lace, fur and dreamcatchers, siren Sarah Kinlaw and her voice are totally enrapturing. She is the capatain and under her watchful eye the band concocts the perfect storm. If this doesn’t make you want to see the band live then I don’t know what else to say to you. And by all means, check out their EP • N O U S • if you have yet to.
